Dehradun. To ease the traffic on the roads of Uttarakhand, 182 single lane bridges will be made double lane. In this, along with strategically important bridges, Chardham Yatra and traffic pressure bridges are also included. A budget of Rs 12 crore has been released in the first phase to upgrade these bridges.
The traffic pressure on the roads in the state is increasing rapidly. In view of this, the government is focusing on the widening of the roads. But despite the widening of the roads, the problem of traffic is not going away. The government has decided to upgrade 288 bridges from B category to A category across the state. In the first phase, it has been decided to double lane 182 bridges.
