There is a possibility of increasing the number of corona patients after bathing, since morning the crowd of millions of people gathered
Haridwar. Ganga bath has started in Haridwar on Baisakhi. Lakhs of people are gathering. Corona SOP is not being followed regarding bath. The administration has issued Kovid SOP on Thursday evening regarding bathing. SOP has been issued due to increase in the number of corona patients in Haridwar. Last day itself, 5 corona patients have been found in Haridwar. Now the number of patients is expected to increase after the bath.
In the SOP issued again after about a year, devotees above 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years were advised not to participate in the Snan festival and stay at home. Along with this, orders have been given to conduct thermal scanning of the passengers staying overnight in hotels, ashrams and Dharamshalas.
District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey has advised the devotees coming to bath to compulsorily use social distancing (distance of two yards) and use of masks and sanitizers etc. Medical units have been asked to ensure availability of sufficient quantity of oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oxygen beds, ventilators, ICU beds and essential medicines for the treatment of Covid-19 infected patients.
District Magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey has instructed the subordinate officers that keeping the focus on the crowd, the crowd of devotees should not be allowed to gather anywhere. Also asked to make them aware to wear masks
