Incident happened in Sambhal on Thursday afternoon, people blocked, called NDRF and SDRF
Lucknow. In Sambhal’s Orchi area, the roof of a cold storage suddenly caved in and collapsed on Thursday afternoon. 40 people are feared trapped under the debris of the roof. Police-administration is removing the debris. People staged a blockade alleging delay in relief work. NDRF and SDRF teams have been called.
The incident is of Orchi under Faizganj Behta police station area. It is being told that the cold storage was several years old. Potatoes were being kept here on Thursday. There were 40 laborers and farmers. Suddenly the roof collapsed. Police arrived on information and debris is being removed from JCB and bulldozer.
Ammonia has started leaking due to the collapse of the cold store building. Due to which relief and rescue work is becoming difficult. 2 laborers have been pulled out alive. The roof of the cold storage collapsed. Alleging that the relief work was slow, people blocked the Islam Nagar road. PAC had to use lathis to control the crowd. Due to the leakage of ammonia gas in the cold store, there is a problem in the rescue work. Force has also been called from the neighboring Badaun district. 12 JCBs are engaged in rescue.
