Dehradun. Electricity consumers in Uttarakhand have got a shock again. Due to costlier electricity in the state, the burden on the pockets of the consumers has increased.
After the approval of the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission, there has been an increase of 1.79 percent in the existing rates. Compared to the previous year, the electricity prices have increased by a total of 9.64 percent. This time there has been a huge increase of 3.44 percent in the domestic category. BPL and snowbound consumers will also now have to pay 10 paise more per unit. However, large industries have been given immediate relief in the new tariffs. Fishermen will now get electricity in agriculture category instead of commercial.
