Students of degree colleges will get employment opportunities along with studies

District-wise employment fairs will also be organized for trained youth.

. Along with studies, students of government degree colleges will also get employment opportunities. Skill development courses will be run from the session 2023-24. District-wise employment fairs will also be organized for trained youth.
In the first phase, it will be started as a pilot project in some degree colleges of hilly and plain areas. The state government has decided to implement skill development and employment oriented courses from session 2023-24.
The government has approved the proposal of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. NK Joshi, Vice-Chancellor of Sridev Suman University, regarding the determination of these courses. The committee has identified skill development courses in 30 sectors for government degree colleges and universities.
Mushroom production, beekeeping, agribusiness management and digital marketing, biofertilizers, cosmetic and perfume, basic analytical chemistry have been included in these four-semester courses. There are 30 courses like Mobile App Development, Environmental Geology, Quantitative Aptitude & Logical Reasoning, Vedic Maths, Indian Astrology, E-Office Management, Human Health & General Hygiene, Disaster Management, Food & Nutrition Skills. Along with other sectors have also been proposed.
Higher Education Secretary Shailesh Bagoli said that with the help of Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission, skill development courses will be conducted in government degree colleges. These courses will be driven as per the emerging requirement of present industries and job market. In the first phase, these courses will be started in the colleges of hilly and plain districts with the possibilities of employment in the selected sector. Keeping this in mind, the Higher Education Department will also organize district-wise employment fairs to provide employment opportunities to the trained youth
