Land was being searched for a long time for the villagers coming in the submergence area of Jamrani. The Revenue Department had agreed to give 300 acres of land available in Gadaria Bagh of Prag Farm for the rehabilitation of the oustees. The Chief Secretary informed that the rehabilitation policy has already been issued. Action will be taken accordingly for rehabilitation, land distribution etc.
Jamrani dam is to be built on the Gaula river 10 km upstream from Kathgodam in Nainital. Its height is proposed to be 150.6 meters. This project will provide irrigation facility to 1.5 lakh hectare agricultural area. On the other hand, Haldwani city will get 42 MCM drinking water. The project will also generate 63 million units of electricity.
