Dehradun. The state government has released the first installment of MLA fund for the financial year 2023-24. In the first instalment, a fund of Rs 4.70 crore has been released to each MLA. The remaining Rs 30-30 lakh will be released in the second instalment.
From the financial year, the MLA fund has been increased from Rs.3.75 crore to Rs.5 crore. In this sequence, the Rural Development Department has released the first installment of the fund with the increased budget. According to the order issued by Additional Secretary Nitika Khandelwal on Wednesday, a total budget of Rs 324.30 crore has been released for 69 assembly constituencies. Out of this, Rs 70 lakh will be spent in Scheduled Caste dominated areas and Rs 10 lakh in Scheduled Tribe dominated areas in each assembly constituency. Now only a fund of Rs 30-30 lakh per MLA is left, which will be released after the supplementary budget. It has been clarified in the order that geo tagging of all the works under the fund will be done. Along with this, details of all approvals, expenses and payments will be made available on the online portal. He has emphasized on first completing the incomplete construction works under the fund.
