Drunken groom staggered while taking rounds, refused to marry the bride
Hardoi. The marriage of Pooja, daughter of Kamlesh Joshi, was fixed with Ashish, son of Mahipal Joshi, resident of Nayagaon Jat police station, Pasigwan, Lakhimpur, in Mohalla North Nagar, a town in the district. Ashish’s wedding procession reached the bride’s house and was warmly welcomed.
Baraati started dancing and some went to eat. Meanwhile, the groom Ashish also sat down with his friends and took the peg. A shattered baraati started creating ruckus. But as soon as the wedding rituals started, the groom started staggering drunk. The bride flatly refused to take a walk with the drunken groom. There was an attempt at a compromise between the two families, but the bride refused to marry. At last the groom king had to return without the bride.
