Transport station will work, counseling center will be named
Haldwani. Kumaon’s first transport station or rather Traffic Awareness Center is going to open in the city very soon. Land has been identified in Transport Nagar for immediate arrangements. Where the department will be able to park the seized vehicles after the action. However, after a few days, the department will prepare a permanent proposal for the land and send it to the government.
The Transport Department seizes vehicles if irregularities are found during the vehicle checking campaign. These vehicles are parked in their offices or police stations, but now due to lack of space in police stations and transport offices, the problem of parking seized vehicles has arisen. Departmental officers said that due to lack of space, the process of seizing vehicles has almost stopped. Due to lack of space, the Transport Department has got land in Transport Nagar. There will be arrangement for parking of 80 vehicles here.
Transport officials say that initially the work will be started as a transport station. Right from parking of seized vehicles to their release and other related works will also be done here. Counseling of drivers will also be done there. This place will be called Transport Police Station cum Traffic Awareness and Counseling Centre. City Magistrate Richa Singh said that land is being given to the Transport Department in Tipi Nagar for immediate arrangements. The department will start negotiations for permanent land and then the process will be taken forward and the land will be searched.
