Murder case filed against husband, in-laws in Pantnagar area
Haldwani. Priyanka Thapa, a resident of Haldwani Malla Gorakhpur Bhotia Padav, died under suspicious circumstances on February 21 at her in-laws’ house Jagatpura Atria Mor Rudrapur. Priyanka was married to Sanjay Burathi on November 30, 2021. The parents have lodged a case against their in-laws alleging murder. Pantnagar CO Tapesh Kumar Chand said that during the arrest of the accused husband, when the police searched the room of the deceased, a diary was recovered. In which he has written his story. In which the husband is written with filthy abuses and excesses. The deceased has written in one place that if my father abuses her next time, she will kill herself.
According to the police, the brother of the deceased has filed a case of dowry death against her husband and other in-laws. It is alleged that the married woman was murdered for not giving three lakh cash and scooty. It has been said that since the marriage, her sister’s in-laws were not happy about dowry. They tortured him. It is alleged that her sister’s husband Sanjay Burathi, his brother Mukesh and sister Uma used to demand Rs 3 lakh in cash and a scooty in dowry. They threatened to kill her if she expressed her inability.
