The theme of G-20 One Earth, One Family, One Future is based on the idea of ”Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” of Indian cultureThe ancient and great culture of our country had first put the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” ie “The whole world is one family” in front of the whole world. This special meeting of G-20 Chief Science Advisors Roundtable (CSAR) will be helpful in confirming and flourishing this basic concept of our eternal culture.
Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that our state was given the opportunity to organize three G-20 meetings. We are feeling proud while fulfilling this important responsibility, it is a great achievement for all the residents of Uttarakhand. It is hoped that brainstorming, discussion and sharing of experiences in this roundtable will prove helpful in bridging the gap between science and policy.
The way India is moving forward on the path of progress today under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and has established itself as a strong economy, knowledge-based economy, prosperous democracy, a peacemaker on the global stage and a forerunner in the efforts of humanity. So also the G-20 group under his chairmanshipWill be successful in achieving his noble objectives and goals. It is a historic occasion, as the world’s leading and emerging scientific power, which holds about 85 percent of the world’s scientific knowledge, is present in one place. There are many such international issues of science and technology, on which there should be talks between governments at the global level. In this, topics ranging from global science and technology policy and governance to scientific knowledge creation and its use can be taken.
We really need to ensure an inclusive global science advice with a long-term vision, which is also the agenda of this G-20 CSAR meeting. I am happy that One Health has also been taken up under the agenda of this G-20 CSR. Certainly, after the Corona period, it has been proved that the concept of One Health is the biggest need of the present time for better control of global infection and to successfully face the coming epidemics. This spirit of One Health will act as a shield for us to deal with any problems that may arise in the future. Many of you foreign guests must have come to Devbhoomi Uttarakhand for the first time, so I would like you to know and understand our country as well as our state Uttarakhand during your visit.
