Dead body thrown in Ghorpatta forest, murder accused arrested from Bindukhatta
Pithoragarh. In the case of the dead body of a woman found in the forest of Ghorpatta in Didihat of Pithoragarh, it has been disclosed that within 24 hours, the police have arrested the accused of robbery and murder from Bindukhatta in Nainital district. Pithoragarh police and SOG arrested the person who killed the woman along with the loot. Superintendent of Police Lokeshwar Singh disclosed the matter. Told that on May 13, 2023, a dead body of a woman was found in the forest of Ghorpatta, which was propagated by the police station Didihat for identification by doing panchayatnama. On May 15, Sanjay Singh, the grandson of this woman, identified the woman as Mrs. Hira Devi, wife of late Harlal Singh, resident of Phultadi police station Jauljibi. Told that his maternal grandmother, deceased Hira Devi had left for Kalika Dharchula from her village Fultadi to attend the marriage on May 12, but did not reach there, information was received regarding her death. The ornaments were also missing from the body of the woman, due to which robbery and murder seemed to have taken place. In relation to which the charge under section 364/302/392 IPC was registered in Kotwali Didihat.As per the orders of Pithoragarh Superintendent of Police Lokeshwar Singh, under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police, DDhat Parvez Ali, a team of Police and SOG was formed under the leadership of In-charge Inspector Kotwali, DDhat Sub-Inspector Himanshu Pant and In-charge SOG Sub-Inspector Hem Tiwari to disclose the matter. Revealing the incident within 24 hours by the team, the accused Umed Ram, who robbed and killed the woman, was arrested from Bindukhatta with the help of surveillance.
The looted articles were also recovered from the accused. Advance legal action is being taken by presenting the accused before the court. Accused Umed Ram’s son late Anand Ram, resident of village Toli, Bangapani PS Jauljibi Pithoragarh, age is 34 years. A pair of gold earrings, a gold neckerchief were recovered from him. The police team included Inspector Himanshu Pant, In-charge Inspector Kotwali Haat, Sub-Inspector Basant Tamta Kotwali DDhat, Sub-Inspector M Tiwari in-charge SOG, Head Constable Bhupender Singh SOG, Satyendra Suyal SOG, Govind Rautela, SOG, Kamal Tulera – Surveillance
