Haldwani. The transport department will collect green cess from vehicles entering the Uttarakhand border from other states. Which will be cut from fastag. The process has been started for this. Action will also be taken against tax defaulters with the help of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.
A proposal for collection of green cess has been prepared in the state, under which cess will also be collected from every private vehicle entering Uttarakhand border from commercial and outside states. This amount will be Rs 30 to 60, which will be deducted from the FASTag account once the vehicle enters.
This deduction of green cess will be valid only for 24 hours. That is, after 24 hours the vehicle entering the state border will have to pay this amount again. Those vehicle owners who do not give greenses, action will be taken on their vehicles with the help of ANPR cameras.
