23 year old Rani Guldar of Dehradun Zoo dies

Dehradun. The female Guldar Rani, who was the pride of Doon Zoo, died on Thursday. She was about 23 years old. Rani was ill for about a week. Now tourists will not be able to see Guldar in Doon Zoo, because Guldar Raja also died last year at the age of 23.
Zoo ranger Mohan Rawat said that the maximum age of Guldar is around 14 to 15 years. But due to easy access to food and care in the zoo, these two budgerigars lived to a record age. But the queen was ill for some time. He was also being treated. After post-mortem the body was burnt. He told that two Guldar cubs have been kept in the zoo. But permission has not been received from the Central Zoo Authority to keep them on display.
