A team was constituted to investigate the causes of landslide in Jakhan, the team inspected the village

: A joint team of Geologist and Administration inspected the disaster affected Jakhan village of Madrasu Panchayat. Along with finding the reason for the landslide in the village, the team also tried to know whether the situation in the village is now livable or not. During this, the situation was also observed through digital mapping and drone survey.
In Jakhan village of Vikasnagar tehsil, 10 houses were completely damaged due to landslide and landslide on August 16, while 10 other houses are not habitable due to cracks. About 150 persons from 28 affected families of the village have been accommodated in the Junior High School of Pashta village. Some of the affected are also staying with their relatives living nearby in Pashta village.
District Magistrate Sonika constituted a joint team of geologist and administration on the next day i.e. 17th August to investigate the causes of landslide. On August 18, Geologist Kamini Bisht and Tehsildar Prem Singh and other personnel included in the team reached the village and jointly inspected the affected area.
SDM Vinod Kumar told that the situation of landslide will be clear only after the report of the team. Apart from this, a committee has also been formed to select the place for the displacement of the affected. Till then the option of giving Rs 4000 per month as rent to the affected families is being considered.
