Army jawan hanged himself in suspicious circumstances in Haldwani

Haldwani. In Haldwani, an army soldier committed suicide by hanging himself under suspicious circumstances. The jawans posted at Army Cantt, Tikonia lived on rent with wife and two children in housing development. On information, the police took the dead body into custody and kept it in the mortuary.
According to the police, Ravi Karthik, son of Koluguri Karthik (31), originally from Tekumtala Chitiya, Warangal, Telangana, was posted in the Supply Corps at Army Cantt, Haldwani Tikonia. He had joined the army on 25 March 2013. He lived in the housing development with his wife, two children aged about two years and six months. Last Saturday night, he came home from duty as usual and talked about ill health. After that he went to his room.
When the wife saw at around 1 o’clock in the night, the door was locked from inside, and when she looked through the window, he was swinging on the gallows by making a noose from the bed sheet. On the shouts of the wife, people reached around. Kotwal Harendra Chaudhary, who reached the information, told that the police had taken the body in possession and sent it for postmortem. After this he spoke to the family members of the jawan in Telangana, they refused to conduct the post-mortem till his arrival. That’s why the dead body has been kept in the mortuary.
