Due to erosion of Gaula river in Kathgodam, a danger has arisen for the railway track. On Friday, the river was in such spate that it carried away a pillar built near the railway track. Due to erosion, the distance of the railway track from the Gaula river has remained only about 5 feet. If erosion continues at this pace, the danger on the railway track may increase. Due to which the train service in Kathgodam may be disrupted. Railway Izzatnagar Division’s Public Relations Officer Rajendra Singh said that every possible effort will be made to save the railway track from the erosion of the Gaula river. He told that with the help of the Forest Department, JCB was installed in the past to divert the water of the river. But there was no benefit due to heavy rains. He said that in order to protect the track, along with laying the RBM, the railway had constructed a security wall. After the rains stop, all possible efforts will be made to save the railway track and railway property in the area.
