Haridwar Police celebrates International Women’s Day

  • Women police personnel including MLA Anupama Rawat, Mamta Rakesh, President Alaknanda Ashok celebrated the festival. In collaboration with Can Protect Foundation, UPWA organized a medical camp, celebrated with great enthusiasm, free health health camp organized in view of International Women’s Day, more than 200 women from the police family took advantage of the health camp, the team of chairman of CMI and Can Protect Foundation and teams of Swami Vivekanand Trust Hospital were present. Many eminent women were honored with “Asha Ki Kiran Samman”, SSP Shri Ajay Singh felicitated the entire team for organizing the health camp.

Uttarakhand Police Wives Welfare Association in collaboration with Can Protect Foundation organized free health check-up health camp and breast and cervical cancer awareness camp and breast and cervical cancer awareness camp in the reserve police line Roshanabad Haridwar under the guidance of Smt. Deepali Singh (District President), Smt. Rekha Yadav (SP Crime), Ms. Niharika Semwal (CO Opps), Ms. Pallavi Tyagi (CO Roorkee). The aim of the camp was to provide free health services to women including breast and cervical cancer awareness, gynaecological check-ups and other medical facilities.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, there was a grand program in police line Roshanabad since morning in which MLA Anupama Rawat, MLA Mamta Rakesh, Smt. Alaknanda Ashok (President Upwa) were present in the program. After welcoming everyone in a bouquet of flowers and Indian traditional way and lighting the lamp, more than one colorful programs were participated in a very happy atmosphere, the participants were rewarded and in an atmosphere of joy, holi of flowers as well as Abir Gulal immersed each other in the color of Holi. Within a few hours, the entire program was arranged with excellent music and in the atmosphere of Holi, everyone was forced to dance and dance.
In order to solve their health related problems in the morning, a large number of women police personnel and women of the police family got information about the right treatment by removing their misconceptions regarding the disease and thanked “Upwa” for organizing the medical camp.

Dr. Sumita Prabhakar, Chairperson, CMI Hospital and Can Protect Foundation, Dehradun, was instrumental in making the camp a success.

A team of Dr. Sumita Prabhakar and Swami Vivekananda Trust Hospital examined more than 200 women and other patients from police families and women police personnel.

During breast check-ups, unusual symptoms were found in some women, and doctors advised further check-ups. Facilities like sugar, hemoglobin, blood pressure gynaecological check-up and breast screening were provided at the camp, and Swami Vivekananda Trust provided eye check-up, general practitioner consultation and medicines.

Dr. Sumita Prabhakar, Chairperson, CMI Hospital and Can Protect Foundation, Dehradun, held a health talk on preventive health care and cancer awareness for women. He highlighted the importance of HPV vaccine manufactured in India, which will be available in India soon and at a much lower price than the current vaccine.

Dr Prabhakar said this is a step towards a self-reliant India and requested the government to promote HPV vaccination in schools for girls aged 9 to 14 years for prevention of cervical cancer.

Dr. Sumita Prabhakar gave special thanks to SSP Haridwar Shri Ajay Singh and Shrimat Deepali Singh (President Upwa) for organizing the camp.

He also thanked Rekha Yadav SP Crime, CO Roorkee Pallavi Tyagi, CO Jwalapur Niharika Semwal for this wonderful initiative for women’s health.

Ray of Hope Honor

In this program, many eminent women of the society were honored with the Kiran Samman of Hope by Can Protect Foundation.
City Magistrate Nupur Verma, CJM Sangeeta Arya, Mayor Anita Sharma, IPS Rekha Yadav SP Crime, Pallavi Tyagi CO Roorkee, Niharika Semwal CO Jwalapur and Smt Deepali Singh were among the women who were awarded the ray of hope. Dr. Sumita Prabhakar requested all these women to make more and more women aware about the CAN app and make women aware of breast cancer.
SSP Haridwar Ajay Singh felicitated Dr. Sumita Prabhakar and her team of doctors for organizing health camp for police personnel. The team of Dr. Monika Singh, Dr. Shreya Devedi, Dr. Pooja Singh, Pradeep Aswal and Swami Vivekananda Trust were present in the program.
