Relief: PF of those working on commission will also be deducted

Along with food delivery-courier agents, collection agents of banks will also come under the ambit.

Dehradun. Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) taking commission in return for work
It is also going to bring the employees under its ambit. Especially, it is working on a plan to bring the workers working in banking, food delivery and courier sectors under the ambit of social security. All these employees do not get salary directly, they are given commission by banks or companies in return for their work. EPFO is also preparing a formula for such employees.
EPFO Regional Commissioner Vishwajit Sagar said that we have started work on this in Dehradun. Apart from Doon’s Urban Co-operative Bank, details have been sought from Uttarakhand State Co-operative Bank of such employees who do commission based jobs in both these banks. He said that other banks and other banking services are also being brought under this ambit. According to the Provident Fund Commissioner, there are a large number of employees in the retail sector who are not covered under the social security scheme of the Provident Fund Organization, because such employees take commission from their organization instead of salary for the work done. There is a plan to reduce EPFO’s commission on this commission, so that banks and food delivery people as well as those working on commission basis in e-commerce and courier services can be linked to EPFO.
