To get rid of drugs mafia in Uttarakhand, considering making a strict law on the lines of anti-copying law

Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the government is considering enacting a strict law on the lines of the anti-counterfeiting law to free the state from drug mafia. Chief Minister Dhami has instructed the police to take prompt action against the drugs mafia.
State Level Narcotics Co-ordination meeting was held at the Secretariat. During this, the Chief Minister said that the Anti-Drug Task Force will be strengthened. On coming June 26, World Anti-Drugs Day will be celebrated grandly in the state. The CM also targeted the police department to make a record of taking oath against drugs.
Secretary Health was directed to immediately prepare a guideline for the establishment, operation, treatment and arrangement of doctors for de-addiction centers in the state. At present, 43 private drug de-addiction centers are operated in Uttarakhand through private efforts. CM said, by the year 2025 Uttarakhand will be made ‘drugs free’. Dhami also asked to send police officers and jawans to the Narcotics Control Bureau on deputation as well as for training. The Social Welfare Department said that Uttarkashi, Srinagar, Champawat and Almora have been selected by the Government of India for the Addiction Treatment Facility Center
