Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Uttarakhand this year: Dhami

The Chief Minister said – along with taking suggestions from 2.33 lakh people, the opinion of various organizations was also known by the committee.

Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Uniform Civil Code will be implemented in Uttarakhand this year itself. He said that after the formation of the government in the state, we had taken the first decision to form a committee in this regard. Along with taking suggestions from 2.33 lakh people, this committee also took the opinion of various organizations, institutions and all the tribes.
In a program held at the hotel near ISBT, the CM said that in the 2022 assembly elections, the BJP had promised the public regarding the Uniform Civil Code. There should be uniform civil law in the country. This has been the demand of the public and it will start from Uttarakhand. The CM said that under the constitutional arrangements, the Uniform Civil Code law will be implemented in the state this year itself.
The CM said that conversion in Uttarakhand was like a mite. The conversion was being done by cheating and giving greed. To maintain the original form of Devbhoomi, it was necessary to stop it. Uttarakhand is a peaceful state. There is good law and order here. Many people are settling here illegally without verification. It is also necessary to look at the demographic change taking place due to this. The CM said that there is no partiality in the removal of encroachments in the state. Be it any religion, caste, religion, creed, everyone is treated equally. The CM said that the uneven geographical conditions of the state should not become a hindrance in development, keeping this in mind, the government is formulating policies according to the conditions of the hill and plain areas.
