Nainital.
When her mother refused to send a 15-year-old girl from Udham Singh Nagar district to Kota city of Rajasthan for NEET coaching, she reached the High Court with the help of her grandfather. In the appeal filed in the High Court, the girl said that she wants to go to Kota with the aim of making her career. His father also supports him. But mother opposes it and wants to marry her after passing 12th class.
On this, the court rejected the girl’s request and ruled that the girl was not in any danger due to discord within the family. The court also said that the situation in India has not become so bad that the judiciary should interfere in such domestic matters. The girl had requested for instructions to the Child Welfare Committee to intervene in the matter. A division bench of senior judges Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari and Justice Pankaj Purohit, after hearing the matter, dismissed the petition saying that there is no allegation in the entire petition that the life or liberty of the petitioner is in danger. As claimed in the petition, there is no case for providing security.
