18 people died and 17 were injured in a horrific accident on Lucknow-Agra Expressway

Lucknow. 18 people died and 17 were injured in a horrific accident on Lucknow-Agra Expressway on Wednesday morning. 17 people were injured in the accident. The accident happened when the sleeper bus was going to Delhi with passengers. After the accident, both the buses overturned on the expressway itself. All are being treated at the Community Health Center Bangarmau. After the tragic accident, the police team is engaged in the rescue operation.

The bus had left for Bhajanpur in Delhi at 5 pm on Tuesday evening with the workers from Pipra Kothi in Motihari district of Bihar. On Wednesday morning, when the 5 sleeper bus reached near village Garha at kilometer number 247 on the Agra Lucknow Expressway in Behta Mujawar police station area, a tanker coming from behind hit it. After the massive accident, the bus got badly damaged and overturned. There was an uproar after the accident. The passengers somehow managed to save their lives by screaming and shouting. When the police came to know about the incident, a rescue operation was carried out on the spot.
So far, 18 bodies have been kept in the mortuary. The dead include 14 men, two women, a child and a daughter. The accident is so tragic that the condition of 17 people on board remains critical. Preparations are being made to send many people to the district hospital after first aid. The local administration is engaged in the rescue. The dead have not been identified yet.
