5 terrorists arrested, huge quantity of explosives recovered

Big plan of terrorists failed, connection with Lashkar-e-Taiba

. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested five suspected terrorists in Karnataka. A huge amount of explosive material has also been seized from them. The terrorists had planned to blast in Bangalore. The CCB said all five are accused in a 2017 murder case and came in contact with the terrorists while in Parappana Agrahara Central Jail.
The arrested terrorists have been identified as Syed Suhail, Umar, Janid, Mudasir and Zahid. A large quantity of weapons and other items have been recovered from the five suspected terrorists arrested by the Central Crime Branch. The CCB said that four walkie-talkies, seven country-made pistols, 42 live bullets, two daggers, two satellite phones and four grenades were recovered from the arrested suspects.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand said T Nazir, an accused in the 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts, is linked to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. The five arrested terror suspects were radicalized by T Nazir, accused in the 2008 serial blasts. Police sources said the five suspects were among 21 people arrested in a murder case in the past. Its mastermind is currently absconding and was in touch with the suspects through cell phone, he said.
They were nabbed near a place of worship at Kanakanagar in Sultanpalya area while planning a bigger conspiracy, sources said. Acting on a tip-off, the Central Crime Branch arrested them.
The CCB said that these five terrorists were residents of different areas of Bengaluru and were planning to carry out blasts in the city. He said that after receiving information about the suspects, the location was tracked and the five were arrested. He said that there can be more revelations in this matter, which is awaited
