In Salt area, the police arrested five youths of Udham Singh Nagar who had left on foot after filling the bags in bags. 48 kg ganja has been recovered from them. Told that the accused were planning to take the ganja to Jaspur and sell it at high prices on Shivratri festival.
According to information received from the police, a checking campaign was conducted in the area last Thursday. During this time, five youths going from Kaligaon towards Dodiyal village were stopped and interrogated. He said that they reached here in search of work and are commuting on foot while waiting for the bus to go to Ramnagar. The police became suspicious of him because he was carrying big bags on his back and when the bags were searched, they were found to be filled with ganja.
Police station incharge Ajendra Prasad said that 48.200 kg of ganja was recovered from the five youths, Ajay Kumar (27), Gaurav Kumar (20), Aman (19), Jishan Anshari (23), Mohammad Shaukeen (23), residents of Patrampur, Jaspur, US Nagar. All five have been arrested and sent to jail under the NDPA Act.
