Woman’s husband and five-year-old son injured, couple going to wedding in elder brother’s family
Dehradun. The bike got hit by an unknown truck near Dharmawala of Sahaspur police station area on the Delhi-Yamunotri National Highway. The woman riding the bike and her six-year-old daughter died in the accident. The husband and five-year-old son were seriously injured. A total of five people were riding on the bike.
According to the information, Irshad, a resident of Chhutmalpur district, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, had come to Pahadi Gali Vikasnagar along with his family to attend the wedding ceremony of his elder brother Niaz’s son and daughter. The wedding ceremony was over last Wednesday. On Thursday evening, he was returning to Chhutmalpur with his family on a bike. He works hard. His wife Gulista Praveen (36), daughter Alfisa (10), son Asad (5), Mohammad Shad (2) were traveling with him in the bike. It is being told that at around quarter to four in the evening, they reached about 500 meters ahead of Dharmawala post.
During this, Irshad started overtaking the truck, but the driver of the truck did not reduce the speed. Meanwhile, to save the biker coming from the front, Irshad turned the bike towards the truck. Due to which the bike got hit by the truck and went out of control and slid on the road. The wheel of the truck passed over the wife’s stomach and daughter’s head.
Irshad and son Asad’s legs also got hit by the truck. Younger son Mohammad Saad got thrown and fell. He was not injured. After the accident, the driver fled from the spot along with the truck. People passing by informed the Sahaspur police station about the accident. Police reached the spot and sent all the 108 injured to Vikasnagar sub-district hospital. Where doctors declared Gulista Praveen and Alfisa dead. Irshad and Asad were referred to Doon after first aid. Police station in-charge Sahaspur Mukesh Tyagi said that information is being collected about the truck.
Till last Wednesday, there was happiness in the marriage of Irshad’s elder brother Niaz, a resident of Pahadi Gali, who was the victim of the accident. Due to his wedding commitments, Irshad stayed at his brother’s place for another day, but little did Irshad know that a day later his world was about to be ruined. The truck that came in the form of death left Irshad scarred for life. Irshad had happily bid farewell to elder brother Niaz at around 3 o’clock and left for Chhutmalpur. As soon as the news of the accident came, the family members started crying bitterly. Everyone hurriedly reached the hospital. Where the lifeless bodies of Gulista Praveen and Alfisa were lying. Elder brother Niaz is also deeply shocked by the accident that happened with his brother.
