Seven-day training camp of Ice organization, gold medalist Avni honored in National Cycling

Pithoragarh. The seven-day training camp of Intrisic Climbers and Explorers (ICE), a leading organization of adventure sports, came to an end with the certificate distribution ceremony. In the ceremony, Avni Daryal, who reached her home district after winning gold medal in the National Cycling Competition, was honored with a memento.
Certificates were distributed to twelve trainees in a function organized at the local tourist accommodation. For the last seven days, they were given intensive practice of mountaineering, rock climbing, rappelling, jumaring, river crossing, survival techniques, first aid as well as Himalayas, history of mountaineering, terminology and different types of knots.
Chief guest at the ceremony, President of Uttarakhand Traditional Upliftment Committee, Ram Singh said that the hilly areas of Uttarakhand are very sensitive from the point of view of natural calamities. This area can also play a leading role in the field of tourism, in such a situation, it is necessary that employment can be created by acquiring skills in this area.
He stressed the need to encourage the work done by the ICE organization in the last two decades for disaster management and promotion of adventure sports. Special guest A class contractor social worker Prakash Joshi and Diwan Singh Mehta expressed happiness over the ICE team donating blood to the needy from time to time, connecting youth with adventure sports and providing practical training to deal with natural calamities. During this, the trained youths shared their experiences and said that this training has had a very positive impact in their lives. Trainees Bhumika, Jahnavi, Nikita, Tanishk, Neeraj, Raj, Swapnil, Mukesh, Kailash, Shivashun, Pushkar etc. shared their experiences in the function. Chief Instructor Kavinder Chand, Abhishek Bhandari, Garima, Anjali, Deeksha and Lokesh Pawar provided training along with Ice Secretary Mountaineer Basu Pandey. The ceremony was conducted by Jagdish Kaloni, President of Ice and Muskaan Samaj Utthan Samiti.
