With the start of 19 seater air service for Pithoragarh, 42 seater air service for Hindon will also start soon.
Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami formally inaugurated the Pithoragarh-Dehradun-Pantnagar air service on Tuesday. Now on February 2, the first 19 seater aircraft will take off carrying passengers between Pithoragarh-Doon. After gifting a 19-seater passenger plane to the people of the border areas for the first time, CM Dhami said that soon a 42-seater plane service will also be started from here to Hindon (Delhi-NCR).
On Tuesday morning, CM Dhami left for Pithoragarh Nainisaini from Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun on a Fly Big plane. Before leaving, he also lit the lamp here. At the inauguration program in Pithoragarh, the Chief Minister said that the launch of this service will open new doors of development in the frontier areas. Earlier it used to take 17 hours to go from here to Dehradun. Many times this journey would be more than 20 hours long. After the construction of the all-weather road, this distance started covering in 11 hours. Now after the start of air service, people will be able to reach Dehradun in just one hour. CM Dhami said that this service will ease the journey of common passengers as well as those coming to Adi Kailash, Om Parvat and Jageshwar Dham through Doon-Pithoragarh air service. CM said that work is being done rapidly to expand air services in Uttarakhand. The expansion work of Dehradun Airport is going on war footing. The work of expanding Pantnagar Airport is also in progress. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister Scindia for starting the air service.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Scindia, who joined the program virtually, praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that this service has been started due to the tireless efforts of CM Dhami. People of frontier Pithoragarh and Almora and Bageshwar districts will also benefit from it.
Online booking of Fly Big Company has started for passenger air service between Pithoragarh and Dehradun. The minimum fare for travel by 19 seater aircraft has been fixed at Rs 1999. These rates will depend on seat availability and period of booking before travel. In such a situation, passengers who delay in booking will have to pay more fare. This service for passengers will start from February 2.
