Ban on new registration for Kedarnath Yatra till May 8

Decision taken due to snowfall and breaking of glacier on the travel route

Dehradun. New registration for Kedarnath Yatra has been banned till May 8 due to snowfall in Kedarnath and frequent avalanches on the footpath. Devotees can register for the date beyond May 8.
Nodal Officer of Chardham Yatra Registration, Additional Director Yogesh Gangwar said that keeping in view the problems being faced in the yatra route, new registration has been banned till May 8. On the other hand, there was light snowfall again in Dham on Thursday evening. At the same time, at 2.15 pm, the pedestrian route was closed due to an avalanche. SDRF jawans made the pilgrims move safely here. 9533 pilgrims were sent to Kedarnath from 9 am to 4 pm on Thursday. Yatris will be sent to Kedarnath today at 9 am if the weather is clear
