Fourth accused in ivory recovery case arrested in Kalagarh forest division
Ramnagar. A forest department’s beat watcher has been arrested for allegedly smuggling ivory from Jim Corbett Park. The arrested accused was a beat watcher in Kalagarh forest division.
Kalagarh DFO Neeraj Sharma said that three days ago, Ramnagar Forest Division and STF had arrested three people with two ivory. After interrogation, the name of the fourth accused, a beat watcher, came up in Kalagarh forest division on Sunday. They are being questioned about where the ivory came from.
According to the information received, three days ago on Friday night, the team of Ramnagar Forest Division arrested dhirendra, Virendra and Rahul accused with ivory. Since then, the team was gathering information about the case. On Sunday, the team caught Vinod Dhyani, a beat watcher of Kalagarh forest division, from his house in Kalagarh.
He said that some part of the ivory was near him. Vinod got his ivory from the Kalagarh forest. He gave this tooth to Dhirendra to sell. Dhirendra earlier worked in Kalagarh division.
