Free treatment of 5 lakhs in Ayushman Yojana, 35 hospitals empaneled in hilly areas
Dehradun. Under the Ayushman Yojana, patients will be able to get admitted directly in private hospitals of hilly districts. In view of the difficult geographical conditions of the mountains, it has been decided not to make referral mandatory in these areas. There are 175 hospitals empaneled in the state under the Ayushman Yojana for free treatment of Rs 5 lakh. Out of which 35 private hospitals are in hilly areas.
Under the Ayushman Yojana, patients have to be first referred to the government hospital except in emergency cases. Because of this many times there is a delay in the treatment of people. In the plains, government and private hospitals are near, yet it takes less time. But in hilly areas referral takes much longer time. Apart from causing problems to the patients, private hospitals are also facing problems. Now instructions have been given to admit patients without referral under the Ayushman Yojana in the hilly areas of the state
