Big shock to electricity consumers in Uttarakhand, electricity rates increased from 14 to 52 paise per unit

In the name of fuel charge adjustment, there was an additional increase in electricity rates for the month of July to September.

Dehradun. The Energy Corporation has given a big blow to 27 lakh consumers of electricity in Uttarakhand. Electricity rates have been increased from 14 to 52 paise per unit. Electricity rates have been increased in the name of Fuel Charge Adjustment (FCA). This additional increase has taken place for the months of July to September.
The fuel charge was completely waived in the months of April, May and June, whereas now the fuel charge has been increased for three months. This time even BPL consumers have not been spared from the brunt of the fuel charge. A burden of 14 paise per unit has been imposed on them as well. Domestic consumers will be charged a fuel surcharge of 36 paise per unit. 52 paise per unit will be charged from commercial, 49 paise from government departments, 16 paise per unit from private tubewell. Along with this, a charge of 22 paise has also been fixed in the electricity bills of agricultural activities. LT industry will bear 49 paise, HT industry 47 paise, 45 paise on mix load, 44 paise from railways and 42 paise fuel charge at electric vehicle charging station. Anil Kumar, Managing Director of Energy Corporation has ordered this. He said that the rates of fuel charge are fixed every three months. The fuel charge was completely waived off in the last quarter. Fuel charges have increased in this quarter due to costlier electricity from gas and coal-fired power plants. Which is only for three months. These rates will be revised afresh in October.
