AIIMS has already sent medicines from Tehri District Hospital and Judda village of Yamkeshwar block of Pauri by drone.
Rishikesh. AIIMS will send blood component from Rishikesh to Kotdwar through drone today. The AIIMS administration has completed all preparations for the trial. AIIMS has earlier sent medicines through drone to Tehri District Hospital and Judda village of Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district. On February 16, the AIIMS administration had delivered TB medicine to Tehri district hospital through drone. The drone took off from AIIMS and covered a distance of 36 km (aerial distance) in half an hour. After sending the medicine, the drone reached back to AIIMS. With this trial, AIIMS Rishikesh became the first AIIMS in the country to conduct a trial of sending medicines by drone. After that, on March 2, the second trial took place in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district. AIIMS delivered TB medicines to Judda village of Yamkeshwar block in 15 minutes through drone. The aerial distance from AIIMS to Judda is 26 kms. Now AIIMS administration is going to send blood component through drone to Kotdwar Base Hospital. AIIMS administration says that all preparations for the trial have been completed. Nodal Officer Drone Trial Dr. Jitendra Gaurola told that the drone carrying blood component will go from AIIMS to Kotdwar. Earlier medicines have been sent to Yamkeshwar.
