Brake failure of roadways bus going from Haldwani to Munsiyari with 31 passengers, bus saved from falling into ditch

Nainital. Roadways bus going from Haldwani to Munsiyari with 31 passengers narrowly escaped from accident at Dopakhi bridge. The bus suddenly went out of control due to brake failure. Fortunately, the speed of the bus was low and it got stuck on the steel guard on the roadside. After this, the passengers in the bus were taken out from the emergency door and sent to the destination by another bus.
According to the information, a roadways bus left for Munsiyari from Haldwani at around 12 o’clock on Tuesday night. There were 31 passengers in the bus. The bus reached the Dopakhi bridge near Garampani at around 2.30 am on Wednesday. Only then did the driver realize that the brakes of the bus were not working. On knowing this, there was a hue and cry in the bus. But due to the low speed of the bus, the driver somehow handled the bus. But the wheel of the bus got stuck on the iron guard built towards Shipra river. After this the passengers were taken out through the emergency door. The incident was reported to the Khairna police post. Police personnel Jagdish and Satish reached the spot and the passengers were sent to the destination by another roadways bus. Bus operator Bhupal Ram told that there were 31 passengers in the bus. The bus suddenly went out of control due to brake failure. Because of this the accident happened. Although none of the passengers got hurt.
