Chaitra Navratri to be celebrated as ‘Nari Shakti Utsav’

Chaitra Navratri begins on March 22, culture department to provide rs 100 crore for organising Devi Upasana programme in each district

Dehradun. Chaitra Navratri begins on March 22. Chaitra Navratri will be celebrated as Nari Shakti Utsav across the state. The Culture Department has released Rs 1 lakh each to all the District Magistrates for organizing programs of goddess worship in each district.
On the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, nine forms of Maa Durga will be worshiped with rituals. Chaitra Navratri has been given special importance in Vedic and Puranas. It has been considered as the basis of self-purification and liberation. Worshiping Maa Durga in Chaitra Navratri eliminates negative energy. There is a positive energy all around. Therefore, in view of the widespread religious significance of Chaitra Navratri in the state of Uttarakhand, religious and cultural programs will be organized in all major Devi temples and Shaktipeeths in the state during this period.
Secretary of The Culture Department Harichandra Semwal has been quoted as saying that the major devi temples/ temples of all the districts of the state are located. Navratri will be celebrated as Nari Shakti Utsav from March 22 to March 30 on the occasion of Navratri, a symbol of the power and power of mother power in Shakti Peeths. Durga Saptami, Ramcharitmanas, Devi Singing and Devi Jagran etc. will be organized. Women and girls will be specially involved in these programs. For the successful organization of these programs, the Culture Department will provide an amount of one lakh rupees to each District Magistrate.
