Travel routes will also be monitored by CC and ANPR cameras
Dehradun. Vehicles will be allowed to ply during the Chardham Yatra from 4 am to 10 pm this year. For this, the department has fixed 18 hours for the operation of vehicles. Last year, the time limit for operation of vehicles was fixed from 5 in the morning to 8 in the night. Keeping in view the possibility of a large number of passengers coming in the yatra, this arrangement has been made this year.
The Yatra will also have Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and closed circuit cameras at the entry points this year. For this, the tender process has started to install ANPR cameras at all the entry points of the state. At the same time, it is proposed to install CC cameras in the Chardham Yatra route by the Union Road and Transport Ministry. Survey has been done for this.
All preparations for the trip are being finalized. Checkposts will be opened along with the deployment of mobile enforcement squads on the yatra route. Motorcycle enforcement squads will also be deployed soon. Employees will be deployed in all these squads and checkposts before the start of the yatra
