Dehradun. The famous Chardham Yatra will start this year on 30th April on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. This time the gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened on the same day. The dates of opening of Badrinath and Kedarnath gates will be announced soon.
Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that the date of opening of Badrinath Dham gates will be decided in the religious ceremony to be held at Narendranagar Rajdarbar on February 2. On the same day, the date of Tel Kalash Gadu Ghada Yatra will also be announced.
The date of opening of Kedarnath Dham gates will be decided by Rawal, Dharmadhikari and Vedpathi after Panchang calculation at Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on February 26 on the day of Mahashivratri.
Important dates:
- 30 January: Tel Kalash Gadu Ghada will be handed over to Dimri Religious Central Panchayat at Shrinrisinha Temple Jyotirmath.
- 2 February: The date of opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham and the date of Tel Kalash Gadu Ghada Yatra will be announced during the religious ceremony at Narendranagar Rajdarbar.
- 26 February: The date of opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham will be decided after Panchang calculation at Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on the day of Mahashivratri.
- 30 April: The doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will open.
Preparations:
The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has started preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Repair work is being done in the temples and facilities are being increased for the pilgrims.
