Congress workers will donate hair collectively and send hair to Chief Minister’s office: Godiyal

Former Congress president cornered the government for not making public the names of VIPs in the Vananthara case.

Dehradun. Former Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal has once again targeted the BJP government regarding the Vananthara episode. He said that the BJP has been upset by the donation of hair by two women Congress workers in protest against the failure of the government. He has linked this effort of Congress to religion.
Godiyal said that if the government does not make the names of VIPs public in the Vananthara case, then Congress workers will donate hair en masse and send all the hair to the Chief Minister’s office. Last Sunday, at the Congress state headquarters, former Congress state president Godiyal said that the BJP is linking the cutting of hair of Congress women workers with religion. In the past too, people have had their hair cut in protest. There is a difference between Sanatan of BJP and Sanatan of Congress. BJP’s Sanatan is inspired by politics, while Congress’s Sanatan is connected to traditional and basic sentiments.
Former state president Godiyal said that hair has been used as a weapon from past till today. Even BJP leader Sushma Swaraj had talked about cutting her hair in protest. He said that when incidents happened with women in Manipur and Hathras, where was BJP’s Sanatan. He also condemned the statement of BJP Mahila Morcha President.
The former state president of Congress also targeted the BJP over the 33 bills related to reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies passed in the Parliament. He said that this is just a slogan of BJP. If BJP is truly pro-women, then it should implement women’s reservation as per the existing delimitations in the upcoming assembly or Lok Sabha elections. He also demanded that the state government make public the report of the cooperative scam and the geological survey of Joshimath.
