Dehradun. Now the administration is keeping a close watch on the land mafia in Uttarakhand. Most of the illegal construction has been done on government land in Dehradun.
The land mafia has always had a vulture eye on the government land in Doon. The government departments themselves do not know how much of their land has been encroached upon and how much is safe. However, the district administration now seems to be cautious of the land mafia and the District Magistrate has asked all the departments to immediately register the details of their assets on the Public Management Portal.
In the meeting held on Wednesday, District Magistrate Sonika said that district level officers should not be lax in registering the details of assets on the Public Management Portal. This work has to be completed soon. He directed that the daily progress of recording the details is being reviewed. This information should also be given to the information control room on a daily basis. So that it can be clear at what speed the work is going on.
The District Magistrate said that once the status of government assets is clear, they can be protected. Besides, the status of land bank and other properties for any public utility projects will also be clear. Chief Development Officer Jharna Kamthan, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, Director DRDA Vikram Singh, Sub-District Magistrate Harigiri Goswami, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Gopalram Binwal etc. were present in the meeting.
District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) of the district administration has become active. District Magistrate Sonika, while taking the committee meeting, asked for an update on the construction works. In the meeting held in the Collectorate auditorium on Wednesday, District Magistrate Sonika directed all the construction agencies to provide updated information about their works. So that it can be clear how much work is in progress and what is their deadline.
If the details of the works are available, efforts can be made to complete them on time. On this occasion, officials from agencies ranging from Highways, Finance, Irrigation, PMGSY, Drinking Water Corporation, Municipal Corporation etc. were present.
