Haridwar. During Shraddha Paksha, the crowd of devotees who offer tarpan at Narayanishila has started gathering. Thousands of devotees came from outside to take bath in the Ganga. Due to this there is crowd in the markets. There is a jam on the upper road due to e-rickshaw.
This year, Shraddha Paksha also started with the full moon day, hence, apart from taking a bath in the Ganga, thousands of devotees came to offer Pind Daan to their ancestors. Pinddaan was performed after bathing as per rituals at Harki Paidi, Subhash Ghat, Kushavrart Ghat, Malviya Ghat and Shiv Ghat. There was a huge crowd of people performing the last rites at Nai Ghat. At the same time, after taking bath, most of the devotees participated in the evening Ganga Aarti. Even before the Aarti started, the platform of Malviya Ghat was filled with devotees. When there was no place to sit, the devotees sat on the steps of Ganga Ghat. As soon as the Aarti was over, a procession of devotees came out and there was a traffic jam on the roads. At the same time, the traffic police did not implement any kind of diversion plan during the bath. Compared to other days, a huge crowd was seen in Haridwar on the day of Purnima. The crowd started increasing after seven in the morning. The movement of people continued throughout the day. Which continued till Ganga Aarti in the evening. Although only a few e-rickshaws have been allowed to ply in the Zero Zone, but on the day of Purnima, more e-rickshaws reached the Zero Zone and the crowd was also more than on other days. Due to which there was a long traffic jam near Mansa Devi Marg of Upper Road.
