Jalabhishek’s auspicious time till Sunday, 3 crore 97 lakh devotees have taken Kanwad water
Haridwar. There is a flood of Shiva devotees in Haridwar on Shivaratri of Sawan. Till Friday evening, three crore 97 lakh Shiv devotees have taken water from Kanwar. There has been a crowd of people carrying Kanwar water since Saturday morning.
There is a crowd of those who do abhishekam in the temples. There is a queue since night for Jalabhishek at Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple in Kankhal. Kanwar Yatris have been waiting for their turn for Jalabhishek since night. The holy period of Jalabhishek is till Sunday morning. Amidst the Jalabhishek of Mahadev, there is chanting of Har Har Mahadev everywhere.
According to the scriptures, even though the time of Jalabhishek is from the evening, but since morning there has been a crowd of people in the temples for Jalabhishek. Shiva devotees are doing Jalabhishek since morning in other Shiva temples also. From Saturday evening to Sunday, there is auspicious time for Jalabhishek.
On the Shivratri of the month of Shravan, a train of Kanwar pilgrims kept passing through the highway for the whole night on Friday to perform Jalabhishek of Mahadev with the water of the Ganges. In the month of Shravan, a large number of Kanwar pilgrims reach Haridwar to take Gangajal to perform Jalabhishek of Mahadev with Gangajal in their respective Shivalayas. In order to return, all of them are returning to their places to perform Jalabhishek on Mahashivratri today
