District Excise Officer of Almora attached to Excise Headquarters on leaving the district despite leave not being approved

Dehradun. District Excise Officer Uttarkashi Durgeshwar Tripathi and Chamoli District Excise Officer Rajendra Lal have been suspended with immediate effect. Both are accused of disobeying government orders, negligence towards works and causing loss of revenue to the state government.
The government has attached the District Excise Officer of Almora, Ramesh Chandra Bangwal, to the Excise Headquarters for leaving the district despite the leave not being sanctioned. Cent percent shops in Uttarkashi and Chamoli were not allotted. In such a situation, the government had instructed all the district excise officers to give such shops on the basis of full daily revenue.
Despite this, the shops in Chamoli and Uttarkashi could not be allotted. On this, the Excise Commissioner issued show cause notices to both the excise officers. Both the officers did not respond to this notice. In such a situation, the government has suspended both the district excise officers
