The body of a Congress worker who jumped into Shaktinhar to save a girl who was drowning near bridge number two Moksha Dham under Kotwali Vikas Nagar was recovered from the intake of Dhakrani Power House on Tuesday morning. According to the police, a girl was drowning near bridge number two on Monday late evening between seven and eight o’clock. Then Congress worker Shubham Bhatnagar (28), a resident of Dakpathar, who was going in a car along the canal, jumped into the canal to save the drowning girl. Meanwhile, the villagers passing by saved the girl by putting a rope, but could not save Shubham and he went missing by drowning.
