FSA is decided on the basis of coal prices in the market
Dehradun. Now in Uttarakhand the electricity bill will increase or decrease every month. The Energy Corporation has sent a proposal to the Electricity Regulatory Commission to give a formula for fixing the FSA every month and implement it. FSA is determined on the basis of coal prices in the market.
After making changes in the Electricity Act of the Central Government, now the fuel charge adjustment will have to be fixed every month and implemented on the electricity bills of the consumers. Urja Nigam draws power from several thermal power plants in the country. In such a situation, the price of coal affects the rate of electricity received from these thermal power plants.
The Electricity Regulatory Commission has sought suggestions from the general public on this proposal of Energy Corporation. Will take a decision on this after the suggestions of all the parties come in the public hearing. The electricity bill can increase or decrease due to the FSA being fixed every month. Electricity will be costlier if FSA rates go up and cheaper if rates go down. If there is no change, the electricity rates will remain the same
Electricity bill in Uttarakhand will now be more or less every month
