Noida: A large group of farmers is going to march to Delhi today with their demands. Thousands of farmers from Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna region will gather at Mahamaya flyover under the banner of Kisan Morcha and then move towards Delhi. Tractors will also be involved in this demonstration of farmers.
Demands of farmers: The main demands of the farmers include four times compensation on land acquisition in Gautam Buddha Nagar, increase in circle rate and 10% share of developed land. However, the administration has refused to accept these demands, due to which the farmers have been forced to agitate.
Traffic advisory: Due to the Delhi march of farmers, there is a possibility of heavy traffic jam on Noida-Delhi highway today. The administration has prepared a plan for traffic diversion. In case of jam on Mahamaya flyover, vehicles will be diverted to the service road from Sector-128 cut. Vehicles coming from Kalindi Kunj will be taken out via Sector-37 and 18.
Farmers’ anger: Farmers say that they are protesting peacefully for their legitimate demands. They have appealed to the administration to consider their demands.
Administration’s preparation: The administration has made tight security arrangements in view of the farmers’ protest. Police force has been deployed and special efforts are being made to keep the traffic system smooth.
