Fine will be imposed on buying and selling of dry drugs in these villages of Uttarakhand, decision in Panchayat

After the Mahapanchayat against drugs in Kalsi, Khumdis (meetings) are being held in every village. In which strict action is being taken against those selling intoxicants and drug addicts. In this sequence, meetings will be organized in Majhgaon and Bajau villages and strict action will be taken against those selling intoxicants and drug addicts along with imposing fines.
On Saturday, a meeting of villagers was organized in village Bajau of Kalsi tehsil. In this, the villagers expressed concern about the increasing addiction among the youth to drugs like smack, cannabis, datura, charas etc. The villagers discussed the drug problem and took tough decisions. On the basis of consensus, the villagers decided that a fine of Rs 1 lakh will be imposed on any person selling intoxicants in the village. The villagers also decided to give a reward of Rs 10,000 from the fine to the person who gives information about the drug addict. Said that if any person refuses to pay the imposed fine, his entire village will unanimously boycott him.
Surat Singh, Gambhir Singh, Kripal, Siyaram, Virendra Singh, Rohit Chauhan, Shoorveer Singh, Rajendra Singh, Ramesh Singh, Robin Chauhan, Shubham Chauhan, Rishabh Kumar, Vikram Singh, Bhagtu Das, Shamsher Singh, Munna, Dodudas, Baru were present in the meeting. A large number of villagers including others were present.
On Saturday, a meeting of villagers against drug addiction was held in Mazgaon of Chakrat tehsil. In this the villagers unanimously decided that no outsider would be allowed to enter the village. Also cautioned the parents that they must ask them the details of the amount of money they give to their children. He said that the youth take money from their relatives on the pretext of doing work and then misuse that money. This should be strictly monitored. During this, Sayana Shyam Joshi, Anil, Atar Singh, Suresh Prasad Thapliyal, Ravi Joshi, Khajana Singh, Sadhuram Joshi, Balbir etc. were included.
