Four policemen, including Kotwali in-charge, suspended for shaving Muslim man’s beard

Action taken with supreme court’s intervention after victim’s report not filed

Dehradun. Four policemen, including a Kotwali in-charge in Noida, have been suspended for shaving the beard of elderly Muslim Qazi Ahmed following a Supreme Court notice. The action was taken late On Friday night.
Four policemen, including Noida Sector 113 Kotwali in-charge Pramod Kumar, the then Sector 39 Kotwali in-charge Azad Tomar, have been suspended, the media report said. Kazim Ahmed, a resident of Zakir Nagar in Delhi, boarded a car on July 4, 2021, from Noida’s Sector 37 to Aligarh. It was alleged that five persons already in the car commented on their community. He said different things about a particular community by saying abusive words and shaving his beard. The victim had alleged that he complained about the matter to the Noida Police, but the report was not registered. After this, he reached the Supreme Court. The court has held the policemen guilty of not writing the case on time. At the time of the incident, Sector 113 Kotwali in-charge Pramod was in-charge of Sector 37 outpost and Azad Tomar was station house officer in Sector 39.
