Case of fraud on seven including former PS of the Chief Minister, action taken on the orders of the CM
Dehradun. In the case of fraud of crores of rupees in the name of getting other work including government tender, a case has been registered against seven people, including the former PS of the Chief Minister, in the city police station. It is alleged that the said people cheated seven Patiala resident BJP leaders and workers. On the instructions of the CM, the police have registered a case in this matter and started investigation.
According to City Kotwal Rakesh Gusain, Sanjeev Kumar, former district president of BJP in Patiala, gave Tahrir in the matter. On this basis, a report was registered against former PS Prakash Chandra Upadhyay resident of Kalinga Vihar, Majri Mafi, Saurav Sharma alias Saurabh Vats resident of Palm City and his wife Nandini, Mahesh Mahariya, Raunak Mahariya, Amit Lamba and Shahrukh Khan resident unknown. According to the complainant, Saurabh Sharma had described himself as Assistant Private Secretary in the CM’s office.
According to the police, the complainant Sanjeev told in Tahrir that he had come in contact with Prakash Chandra Upadhyay in the Chief Minister’s Office last year. Accused Upadhyay had offered government tender and medicine supply and other business deals in Uttarakhand. The accused tricked them that they would get them work here. In lieu of this, three crore 42 lakh 59 thousand rupees were taken from the complainant and his other associates.
Sanjeev Kumar told that the accused sometimes met in the secretariat and sometimes in the assembly. During this, he used to carry files of his works with him and used to take money by showing progress reports. After this, rounds were made continuously.
According to Tahrir, earlier this year when the complainant side put pressure, the accused promised to return the amount by March, but did not do so. One day the main accused Upadhyay called the victim to his house. There the servant gave a check of Rs 30 lakh in the name of Shahrukh Khan, which was not cashed. After this, the next day, a case of assault was registered against the complainant side by entering the house.
