Got married in Bhawali Ghorakhal temple, caught when the pot broke
Haldwani. A Muslim youth from Nepal changed his name and befriended a minor girl from there on Instagram. Then he trapped her in the trap of love and brought her away to India. He also got married to her in the Ghorakhal temple here. He has been caught and is being interrogated.
On the complaint of the minor’s family, after a search operation by 47th Bahini Sashastra Seema Bal Raxaul (Bihar), Mission Mukti Foundation Delhi, District Child Welfare Committee Nainital and Uttarakhand Police, a Muslim youth was caught from Dhungshil in Bhimtal. He is under interrogation.
Virendra Kumar Singh, director of Mission Mukti Foundation, Delhi, said that 24-year-old Mohammad Israfil Ansari alias Dara Ansari is a resident of Parsabir Ganj, Nepal. She befriended a 16-year-old girl from the same place on Instagram. He told the girl his name was Munna Kumar Mahato. On December 11, he lured her into love trap and brought her to Uttarakhand from Nepal on the pretext of marriage. Here, when the minor went missing, the family members started searching.
After a month, a WhatsApp call was made to the girl’s mother from an Indian number and she was told to forget the girl. After this, the girl’s mother informed the anti-human trafficking unit of SSB, regional headquarters, Bettiah, Bihar. A letter was sent to the SSP of Nainital on behalf of the Embassy of Nepal. Here, SSB got information about Mohammad Israfil hiding in Bhimtal, Uttarakhand.
On the information of SSB, Mission Mukti Foundation with the help of Nepali Embassy and National Commission for Protection of Child Rights contacted Nainital SSP PN Meena. Everyone together conducted the rescue operation and on March 6, the girl was rescued from Bhimtal and Ansari was also caught. An FIR has been registered against him under rape, kidnapping, POCSO Act and Child Marriage Retribution Act. He is being detained and interrogated.
The District Child Welfare Committee counseled the girl. She told the team that she was a resident of Shivpur, Nepal. One day Israfil forgot his phone at home and went out. Then one of his relatives called and asked him to talk to Mohammad Israfil Ansari. Before this his name was known as Munna Mahato.
