From today the doors of Lord Badrivishal opened for devotees, the temple was decorated with 15 quintals of flowers.

Chamoli. Today at 6 am the doors of Lord Badrivishal opened for the devotees for six months (summer season). There is a huge crowd of pilgrims from the Yatra halts to the Dham.
After visiting Kedarnath, most of the pilgrims are reaching Badrinath. Around 20,000 pilgrims are expected to reach Badrinath on Sunday to have darshan of Akhand Jyoti. The journey to the Chardhams of Uttarakhand starts from Yamunotri Dham located in Uttarkashi district, which reaches Badrinath Dham via Gangotri and Kedarnath. The doors of Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath temples have been opened on May 10.
Now on Sunday the doors of Badrinath Dham have also opened for the devotees. After this the entire Chardham Yatra started. Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) said that the Dham has been decorated with 15 quintals of orchids and marigold flowers.
The ancient monasteries and temples located in the Dham have also been decorated. The district administration has decided to keep Badrinath Dham polythene free this time. Hotels and other businessmen in Dhams and halts have been given strict instructions not to use polythene. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay and Vice Chairman Kishore Panwar along with Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh also took stock of the yatra preparations.
BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said, the process of worship and opening of doors started from 5 in the morning. At exactly six o’clock the doors of the temple sanctum were opened. Mother Lakshmi circumambulated the temple from the sanctum sanctorum and sat in her temple located in the Dham.
These traditions will be completed before the doors open

  • Four in the morning – Entry of Lord Kuber from the south gate of Badrivishal.
  • 5 am to 5.30 am – Entry of distinguished persons into the temple from gate number three.
  • 5.40 am- Rawalji, Dharmadhikari and Vedapathis enter the temple along with Uddhavji.
  • 5.45 am – Worship by Rawal and Dharmadhikari.
  • 6 am – The doors of Badrinath Dham will open for devotees.
  • Regular worship of Lord Badrinath will start in the sanctum sanctorum from 11 am.
